Modern Updates for Your Classic Car Restoration

Parade of restored classic carsThere are few things that are as satisfying as restoring a classic car. For many people, the design of vehicles were simply more appealing, back in the day, and cars had an element of artistry that went beyond the simple utilitarian mindset that we have about cars, today. However, we have to admit that there have been a lot of advancements in auto technology that make driving quite a bit more enjoyable, today. For that reason, you probably want to add in some modern updates with your classic car restoration to have the best of both worlds. Here are some modern updates to consider…

Powder Coated Frame

First of all, if you’ve ever restored an old vehicle, before, then you know that there’s a lot of wear-and-tear that occurs to every aspect of the vehicle. The most important part of the car to protect, though, is the frame, as you can pretty much restore and build any other part off of the frame and still end up with your classic vehicle. For this reason, it’s a good idea to take advantage of modern powder coating technology to protect your vehicle’s frame against the destructive elements that will wear it down, over time.

Updated Air Conditioning

Once you look past some of the nostalgia of driving around in cars, back in the day, you remember some of the more uncomfortable aspects. The largest of these is that AC units were either non-existent, or were straight garbage. If you want to actually drive your classic car around when you are done restoring it, then do yourself a favor and add a modern AC unit on the inside. Otherwise, you’re likely to find that car sitting in the garage for both winter AND summer.

Music Entertainment System

Unless you are trying to recreate the exact experience of driving a classic car around, back in the day, then you are probably going to want to enjoy some of the conveniences of modern vehicles. One thing that many classic car owners opt to put in their restoration is a digital music system that they can connect to via bluetooth or auxiliary cable.
