When preparing any surface for powder coating, it is extremely important that the item you are coating is completely clean of oils, dirt, paint, rust and corrosion. Sandblasting de-scales, de-buries and removes oxides, old finishing, and other surface contaminants from metals. We remove anything that might hinder the powder coating process.
Things such as grease, rust, and dirt contaminate the powder, interfere with the powder coating process, and weaken the bond between the powder and the metal. After cleaning your parts, sandblasting also etches/scratches the surface of the item, enabling better adhesion of the powder. As the powder coat flows into the high and low points of the surface profile, it adheres to the part much better than it could if the metal was a smooth surface.

Media blasting is environmentally friendly. The media can be recycled several times. Some of the media used to blast with are soda, glass, walnut, green diamond, and corn cob. All of the media used is considered green and will not harm the environment. Using the bead blasting process, a surface can be cleaned without any damage. The beads come in a variety of sizes. The smaller the glass beads, the smoother the surface, larger beads produce a more textured finish.
